Ways We Support

Casework Intervention & Counselling

We listen and aim to understand your unique situation. Your sharing allows us to assess your needs, identify the issues and work towards providing a coordinated and holistic solution for you and your family.

Through case management service and counselling, we help you gain resilience over issues and overcome challenges.

Issues we help with:

  • Stressors related to financial difficulties
  • Emotional issues
  • Mental health concerns
  • Shelter & accommodation needs
  • Family & relationship conflicts
  • Parenting & child management

Bringing together various partner agencies, we also tap on community resources to address your specific needs.

For individuals experiencing risk and safety concerns, we provide immediate support to ensure you and your loved ones are safe and protected. Read more on how we support individuals and families experiencing family violence here.

Information & Referral

With an understanding of your needs and concerns, our social service professionals will share with you information about support services and community resources that can benefit you.

We can also refer you to partner agencies to provide relevant support.

Group Work

By bringing individuals and families with common needs together for purposeful group interactions, we address common family issues and challenges to effect positive change and build resilience.

Our Group Work Programme is customised according to the needs of our service users in each region. You may find out more about the Group Work Programme available by contacting your nearest FSC.

Community Work

To better understand the needs of our community, we engage them in community walks, needs assessment, outreach events and other community-based activities. We also tap on community resources which allows us to multiply the impact and strengthen the cohesiveness of our community.

What we observe may be the tip of the iceberg. It is important to explore the situation further. We do not wish to wait for the situation to escalate before providing necessary support. You can contact your nearest FSC if you are unsure.

The family’s safety and well-being are crucial. If they are not providing permission for you to share the information with us, we can send our Social Work Practitioner to do an outreach to the family to see how our services may benefit the family.

Quotes

I sought help from Care Corner FSC when I had a financial crisis and conflicts with my then partner (now husband). My social worker supported me in finding resolutions to my financial difficulties, and facilitated sessions with my husband and me to work on improving our marriage.

Having the space to talk about our relationship goals and sharing appreciation towards each other was memorable for me. This was something we have never experienced before. Our relationship strengthened through that process and we learnt how to better communicate with each other.
