Volunteer Requirements:

  • 18 years old and above
  • Able to commit for 3 months
  • Able to speak English proficiently
  • Experience in managing or engaging small groups of young children is a plus!

Role Description:

This volunteering opportunity is part of the Joyful Learning programme in collaboration with Etonhouse Community Fund.

Joyful Learning seeks to cultivate the joy of reading among pre-school children aged 3-6 years old.

Volunteers are expected to:

  • Ensure that the children pay attention during the reading component of the session
  • Participate in the applied learning activity with the children.
  • During the session, you will also be tasked to befriend the attending beneficiaries. This helps to encourage them from turning up for future sessions.
  • Set up the space before the session and tidying up after the session.

All volunteers will be required to attend a half-day training (Saturdays) by Etonhouse Community Fund. Training will cover the following:

  • Child Development Basics
  • Curriculum Overview
  • Classroom Management
  • Communication Skills
  • Hands-on Training
  • Pre-Post Assessment

Training date: 29 March, Saturday, 10.30am-3pm
