Volunteer Requirements:
- 18 years old and above
- Able to commit for 3 months
- Able to speak English proficiently
- Experience in managing or engaging small groups of young children is a plus!
Role Description:
This volunteering opportunity is part of the Joyful Learning programme by Etonhouse Community Fund.
You will be required to run the reading and activity sessions with pre-school children from vulnerable families as part of the Joyful Learning programme.
This may include:
- Ensuring that the children pay attention during the reading component of the session
- Participating in the applied learning activity with the children.
- During the session, you will also be tasked to befriend the attending beneficiaries. This helps to encourage them from turning up for future sessions.
- Setting up the space before the session and tidying up after the session.
All volunteers will be required to attend a half-day training by Etonhouse Community Fund.
Training will cover the following:
- Child Development Basics
- Curriculum Overview
- Classroom Management
- Communication Skills
- Hands-on Training
- Pre-Post Assessment
