- Mentors for Evergreen Bees Mentoring Programme (Ebees)
Objective:
- To support this developmental programme for children aged 10-12 years, who come from lower income families with low/inadequate parental supervision. This is done by befriending the children, and providing them with academic support, as well as be a support to staff during enrichment activities, e.g. art & craft, sports, etc.
- Volunteers are required to commit 6 months to 1 year.
- Timing: Every Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, 2.30 pm to 6.00pm.

- Assistant Facilitators for iPlus Programme
- To support the iPlus Programme, which is a school-based social work programme for students-at-risk from neighbourhood secondary schools, by assisting staff in running group work sessions, and various class-based activities.
- Timing: 2 Thursdays per month, 11.00 am to 3.00 pm (starting February 2010) or 2 Fridays per month, 10.00 am to 2.30 pm (starting March 2010).
- Commitment: Volunteers are requested to arrive 45 mins before the group work for briefing, and to stay on another 45 mins after the group work for de-briefing. Group work will be 1.5 to 2 hours per session.

- Befrienders for iPlus Programme
- To befriend students and build strong rapport with them, to develop genuine relationships with them as an attempt to keep them away from negative peer influence. All this is carried out when students drop by the Centre, after their school hours.
- Timing: Once a week, on a weekday afternoon, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm.
- Commitment: 3 months period or longer if possible

- Adhoc Administrative Support
- To help in basic administrative work, filing, photocopying and data-entry.
- Frequency: Monday to Friday

- Volunteer English Conversational Class Teacher
Objective:
- Volunteers to teach/facilitate English Conversational classes for participants
with no prior English language knowledge.
- Volunteers are required to commit to the 12-week course.
- Classes held once a week on a Tuesday/Thursday night, 1 to 1.5 hour per session.
- Volunteers proficient in English and 1 other language (Mandarin/Dialect/Malay)
- Tutors, current or ex-teachers are welcomed.
- Volunteer Financial Talk Facilitator
- Volunteers to facilitate financial talks to centre’s clients on financial topics
(e.g. budgeting skills)
- Talks can be conducted either in English or Mandarin or Malay
- Classes held on a Tuesday or Thursday night, 1 to 1.5 hour per session.
- Volunteers with experience in this area or from the financial sector are welcomed.

Volunteer Requirements (for items 1 to 8): Volunteers 17 years old and above preferred; and requires a minimum of 6 months commitment.
- Children Programme: Urbanbee (Tuition and Mentoring Programme)
- To tutor, befriend and mentor primary 2 to 5 children from needy families on a once a week 2 hrs per session. (min 6 months commitment, Jan-Jun or Jul-Dec)
- Timing: Saturday 10.00am-12.00pm
- Children Programme: Kids’ Alpha-Zee Club
- Group work for self-esteem and character development on a once a week 2.5 hr per session.
- Timing: Wednesday, 2.30pm - 5.00pm (min 6 months commitment)

- To organise and facilitate children outings and camps during the school holidays.
- Youth Programme: W.A.Y - Chill Out Cabin
- Befriend and mentor youths at drop-in centre once a week, 2.5 hrs per session.
- Timing: Tuesday or Friday, 2.30pm - 5.00pm
- Youth Programme: W.A.Y – Project Reach
- To provide one-to-one tuition and mentoring for youths on a once a week 1.5 hrs per session.
- Timing: Tuesday or Thursday, 7.00pm - 8.30pm (min 6 months commitment, Jan-Jun or Jul-Dec)
- Youth Programme: W.A.Y – Project Shine
- To organise activities/outings that impart life skills to youths.
- Preferably during the school holidays

Volunteer Requirements:

Befrienders
Volunteers can be trained to partner professionals to make home visits and befriend clients. Befrienders would need to follow-up with clients' family situation and work together with case workers to empower clients.
- Provide emotional support – lend listening ears to clients
- Help in daily essential living needs – run errands for clients who have mobility issues
- Provide limited health care support – accompany clients for medical appointments
- Routine home visits to connect with clients
No experience is required as on-the-job training would be provided.
Students who are looking to fulfil CIP hours would not be accepted.
