CARE CORNER - TECK GHEE YOUTH CENTRE

Care Corner - Teck Ghee Youth Centre operates programmes to help needy youth so that they will receive the support necessary to get them back on the right path in life.

Targeted at youth who tend to stray into at-risk and socially unacceptable behaviour like drug-consumption, teen gangs and other delinquent behaviour, our programmes reach out to students who are still in school but may not be academically inclined and have little parental supervision. Many are from needy, single-parent, or dualincome homes whose parents work long hours, in order to make ends meet.

Since the official opening of the Centre in late l999, a total of 1,013 beneficiaries have passed through our doors. We aim to keep youth off the streets and prepare them for meaningful roles in society.

Core Programme: Evergreen Bees Mentoring Programme
A preventive and developmental programme that is made up of meaningful, interactive enrichment sessions and holistic activities. Targeted at children and youth (Primary 4 to secondary 5) who are at risk, and often have little or no parental supervision, this Programme incorporates tuition and supervised play-time with volunteer mentors. Games include: tennis, badminton, and educational board games.
