We offer specialised learning support services for children with special learning needs to help them improve in their basic academic skills and cognitive functioning. Our aim is to help these children achieve their potential and succeed in daily learning and living.

Who do we cater for:
Our services cater to children (aged 5 to 13) with a range of learning difficulties and conditions including:

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Dyslexia
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
  • Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD)
  • Dyspraxia
  • Down Syndrome
  • Developmental Delay
  • Attention difficulties
  • Reading difficulties
  • Writing difficulties
  • Spelling difficulties
  • Mathematics difficulties
Our clients are referred mainly from schools and children clinics (e.g. Child Development Units of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Singapore General Hospital).

Our Services:
The following programmes/services are offered in our centre at Toa Payoh (Centre-Based), in the child’s home (Home-Based) and at selected primary schools (School-Based):
  • Specialist Tuition
    • Specially designed to help children with special learning needs on academic subjects (English and Math).
    • Teaching methods utilised include:
      • Multi-sensory approach
      • Phonics / Pre-Phonics skills
      • Psychotherapeutic approach (to enhance academic self-esteem and motivation)
      • Bibliotherapy (use of story reading to enhance academic self-esteem and motivation)
      • Brain Gym (movement activities to enhance learning)
    • Conducted weekly in very small groups (maximum of 3 students) or 1-to-1 setting to ensure individual learning needs are addressed.
    • Assessment to evaluate the child’s ability in the subject concerned will be conducted prior to the starting the weekly Specialist Tuition
    • Reassessment will be conducted six-monthly to evaluate the child’s progress.

  • KidsBright
    • A brain development programme designed to effectively enhance cognitive functions of children essential to learning, reading, speech/language and math skills.
    • Integrates three research-based methods:
      • Brain-stimulating Movement Exercises
      • Dietary Approach
      • Mental Training
    • Benefits children with learning disorders including ADHD, Dyslexia, Sensory/Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia and mild Autism.
    • Effectively helps children with no learning disorders but have difficulties in one or more of these areas:

      -Reading/Spelling

      -Memory

      -Attention

      -Handwriting -Motor Coordination -Balance
      -Language/Speech -Visual Processing -Impulse Control
      -Mathematics -Auditory Processing -Hyperactivity

    • Children sessions are held once a week. Parent training sessions are conducted once every 2-3 months.
    • Child’s progress is monitored based on 11 aspects of learning abilities and academic skills.
    • Parents are to complete a detailed questionnaire on the child’s developmental history, behaviour and learning to enable us to assess suitability of the programme for the child.

  • Consultation
    • Provide parents with assessment of their children’s learning and behavioural difficulties.
    • Offer professional advice on remediation actions to address concerns of their children’s difficulties.
    • Intervention adopts an interdisciplinary approach utilising effective and proven methods from fields of education, psychology, neuroscience and nutritional therapy.

  • Parent Education
    • Education/training for parents on special learning needs and related parenting issues.
Why is specialised help important for children with ADHD and Learning Disabilities?
Children with these hidden “disabilities” often struggle with the demands of daily learning and living and are often misunderstood by others as naughty or lazy. Without appropriate support, such children may be at great risk for:
  • Decreased self-esteem
  • Academic failures
  • Family difficulties
  • Social problems
  • Substance abuse, etc.
Early intervention could help these children to improve their learning, reduce their struggle and frustration, and maximize their potential to live more fulfilled lives.

Service Fees Information:
Specialist Tuition (P4-P6): $220 per month
Specialist Tuition (K1-P3): $190 per month
KidsBright: $600 per 3 months term

Initial Parent Consultation (Principal Educational Therapist): $90 per session  
Follow-up Consultation/Therapy (Educational Therapist): $90 per session
Follow-up Consultation/Therapy (Principal Educational Therapist): $120 per session

FEE SUBSIDIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES NEEDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
