BRIDGING THE COMMUNICATION GAP
FINDING WAYS TO BUILD A HAPPY FAMILY

In an increasing complex world, people are finding it harder to navigate relationships to achieve lasting happiness.

Every day, we are buried in the intense demands of our lives and grappling with problems ranging from work to family issues. Very often when we return home, we tend to question why our partner and family fail to understand our needs and problems.

To help reverse the negative trend, Ms Wu Chuan Yu, a professional family therapist and trainer was specially invited from Taiwan to deliver a workshop titled, ‘When X meets Y - Nurturing an atmosphere of love in the family’ to our clients and the public on 23 June.

Besides the workshop, she was also engaged to conduct special workgroups on 21 and 22 June, titled “Dear, What's Happening in Our Relationship?” and “Developing the Three Major Investment Accounts in Youths “

With an overwhelming response since the start of the ticket sales, around 300 people attended the main workshop including would-be parents, practioners as well as Care Corner’s beneficiaries

Compared to last year, this year topic was more focused on marriage and communication within the family on top of in-depth discussion on gender roles as well as effective parenting. Her unique style of delivery made complex techniques and approaches seemed like child’s play.

The workshop presented and raised many important issues relating to family harmony as well as insights to internal conflicts within a marriage.

In her usual flamboyant ways, she invited members of the audience up on stage to highlight real life issues and examples that continue to plague real people and real lives.

What sets a “Wu Chuan Yu” workshop apart from the others are its unique characteristics and practical advices that she always offers the participants. Each of the workshops over the week was awashed with insider tips on guiding you around pitfalls and offering you strategies to overcome challenges in our everyday lives.

In her 2-day workgroups, she offered clear-cut analysis of scenarios and individual attention to all the participants in an open exchange format that delivered a concise flow such that everyone walked away having a better grasp and understanding on the basic concepts.

“The workshops and seminar were a success, “said Ms Cho Chia Min, “ many in the audiences were extremely pleased with the content and topics covered by the trainer.

The workshop was an excellent channel for newly weds or married couples to learn more about the true nature of marriage life with all its pleasantries and pitfalls.

As the workshop draws to a close, many of our beneficiaries are already full of anticipation and excitement for next year’s workshop.
